A pharmacy technician works with, and perform tasks delegated by, a licensed pharmacist. The primary duty of a pharmacy technician is to fill prescriptions, but other important tasks include: handling patient questions about prescription information and health concerns, updating patient profiles and insurance documents, delivering medicine to nursing staff, interpreting patient charts, and other customer service assignments. 

Pharmacy technicians are in high demand in the United States -by 2016 there will be an estimated need for over 376,000 pharmacy technicians.
